Arrival & Departure

Unless guests travel in their own vehicle, all flights will be to and from the Edmonton International Airport (YEG). When traveling into Canada either by air or ground, you will:
  • be required to clear through Canadian Customs.
  • need to present identification in the form of a Passport; keep this accessible. A passport is a requirement for entering Canada and returning to the USA.
  • be asked several questions about the purpose of your trip, the length of your stay, where you live, who you are hunting with, and so on. We recommend having written verification (i.e. your hunt contract or letter of confirmation), to verify your destination.
  • be required to declare all alcohol, tobacco and firearms. For more information, contact your planned border crossing directly or visit www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca
Wildlife Identification Number

In order to streamline your licensing process, we ask you to register your WIN# (Wildlife Identification Number) online. If you don’t have access to the Internet, please let us know and we will assist you.

We need your WIN# in order to purchase your license prior to your arrival. It is valid for five years for a one-time fee of $8.00.

To register your WIN#, go to www.albertarelm.com and follow the link to register for your number. If you have any questions, please call us at (780) 913-1021 for assistance.

Once you have received your WIN#, please call, text, or e-mail it to us.

Firearm Registration

We do have firearms available for rent, however we recommend bringing your own rifle or muzzleloader. If you do, you will be required to declare and register them here in Canada. This is a simple process. Archery equipment does not fall under these requirements and therefore has no declaration form. For firearms, you will be required to complete a simple one-page form to obtain a temporary Canadian Firearms permit. Pre-registration is recommended.

This form (CAFC 909) can be downloaded or mailed to you well in advance from THE CANADIAN FIREARMS CENTRE at www.cfc-cafc.gc.ca. It is recommended to print this form on 8.5 x 14 paper to ensure a good quality copy. Completing this in advance generally reduces your time clearing customs.

The fee is $25. It is only valid for the person who signs it and for those firearms listed on the declaration.
